Social Evening & Quiz Night 7th December
Joint meeting with Aylesbury Astronomical Society at - The British Legion Hall, Ebury Road, Rickmansworth - starts at 8 pm - Wednesday 7th December.
Last year we visited Aylesbury AS for a similar Quiz night - a visit which was thoroughly enjoyed. This year we are the hosts and hope that as many members as possible will join us in entertaining our guests.
You do not need to be an expert astronomer to take part in the quiz - the questions are set in a light hearted manner so as to entertain, they are not intended to be taken seriously. Last year we worked in mixed teams, with members from both societies helping each other. It is expected that the quiz will work in a similar way this year.
It really is fun!
A starter drink and refreshments will be provided by the Society and there is a cash bar in the Legion rooms, which will be available to all members and guests for further drinks if required.
Parking is restricted in the immediate vicinity of the Hall - there are a few places right next door (to the right as you face the building) - but these may already be taken.
Further parking is available in Bury Lane, but this road is a one way street and you have to enter it from Church Street. The best car park is in Northway, which can be entered from Station Road and from the Watersmeet end of the High Street (The High Street and Station Road are also one way). It is about a 2 minute walk from the Northway car park, across the High Street and into the small lane opposite. This takes you to the junction of Ebury Road and Bury Lane.

The Legion Hall is marked on the map as a blue square (also with a blue arrow) at the east end of Bury Road and the traffic directions are marked with red arrows.
